Could Arizona get their very own desert- dweller’s version of Disneyland? The initial idea and planning has been in the works for a few years now. It seems that plans for Dreamport Villages could be getting closer to finalizing.
Dreamport Villages is the brain child of Florida-based developer Alan Segall. The idea is to make a world class entertinament destination on 1500 acres in Casa Grande. The plans include extreme sports, rock climbing, water park and wildlife park. Additionally, it would tout resorts, shops and entertainment venues. The big hurdle has been the whopping $4 billion price tag! Segall says he has been working with investors to secure and finalize funding. Mr. Segall also states that he’s the investors he’s spoken to are very interested and anxious to get started. He believes, “it’s literally coming down to any day now.”
When and if funding is secured and plans are approved, the venue could take up to 10 years to complete. It is definitely a long-term goal. But one that many in Arizona are looking forward to seeing come to fruition!
